21 Years
Teresa is our Spanish Guide and also responsible for maintaining much of our prepared environment. She creates many of the materials and works requested by the Lead Guides and she ensures that the materials are both dynamic and interesting.
Teresa was born in Portugal and was raised in Brazil. When she was 18 she immigrated to the United States and attended college in Queens, New York where she majored in Languages. She continued to reside in New York City and worked as a secretary and manager for a language translation company. Teresa married and then moved to Venezuela for 3 years. She and her husband relocated to Mt. Lebanon where she has lived there for over 30 years. She has 4 children and 6 grandchildren (several attended MCSH). She has been working for our school as a Spanish Guide and Assistant Guide for over 20 years!
The children love her enthusiasm, warmth, humor and stories about growing up in Brazil. She teaches the children in small groups each week and gives lessons on the new Spanish works placed throughout our environment for the week. The children eagerly look forward to “Spanish day”!
